Parkour Training at Home: 8 Exercises for Your House or Garden
Share
You don't need a city full of walls to get better at parkour. Most of the strength, balance and control you need can be built at home or in your garden.
Strength
- Squat jumps: 3 × 10. Land softly every time.
- Push-ups on parallettes (or two sturdy chairs): deeper range, stronger wrists and shoulders. 3 × 8–12.
- L-sit on parallettes: hold 10–20 s. Huge for core and vaults.
- Pull-ups or hangs: on gymnastic rings, a bar or a strong branch. 3 × max.
Balance
- Slackline walking: start with 2–3 steps and build up. It's the best balance trainer there is.
- Rail balance: walk along a low beam or a line on the floor, forwards and backwards.
Precision and landing
- Precision jumps to a line: mark a line with tape and jump to land exactly on it, with control.
- Step drops: step off a low bench and land silently. Repeat 10 times.
A simple weekly plan
- Day 1: strength (1–4)
- Day 2: balance and precision (5–8)
- Day 3: rest or light stretching
Repeat and add reps little by little.
👉 Gear that helps: slackline kit, 2-in-1 balance board, gymnastic rings, folding gymnastics mat.
